Thanks for the compliments and encouragement Brett. As of right now there's nothing to report for the Bane, but I'm in the process of writing new material for my next instrumental disc. My next step is to update my own studio so I can record Jeff and his drums myself. As of right now there is no timetable.
The good news is we're hoping to start playing some "Pete Laramee" shows again in March in the Baltimore area.
Thanks for the interest, Brett!!!
Cheers.

Hey Pete, I am a writer for Progression magazine. I am reviewing your new solo album "Childhood Memories" and I think it is awesome!!! Great concept with the personal stories and the music really depicts the individual titles of the tunes quite well. I am a guitar player too and I love your tone! All the best from Detroit,Michigan!

Hey Kai, I think I remember you. Didn't you know Cara through work? Thanks for remembering us and for stopping by.
BTW - I don't think you're the only one in Germany with the "Future..." I mean - c'mon - the critics had to get copies in order to write those bad reviews. lol
Kai
April 17, 2008
Hi, I'm happy to see that you guys are still out there creating great tunes. I saw a couple of your shows in "The Vault" in Baltimore in 2001 and 2002. Back then Cara Lilly and her boyfriend Greg Gianetti introduced us. Suddenly decided to look for you guys when "Feudal Tourniquet" started playing - I am pretty sure that I own the only copy of "The Future lies broken" here in Germany. Good to see that you are still out there. Greeting from Stuttgart, Germany Kai

It's coming along very well Hector. Thanks for asking. Michael Passen (from Concrete Prophet) will be finishing up the last of the bass tomorrow night and we should be mixing by this Friday. Everyone did a great job on this project and I'm getting very excited for the finished product.

Grief is a three-word pun: Good God man! Just when I thought the powers that be weren't lissening, thunder roars on the horizon?! (Then again, it might just have been a mustering bowel movement depicting the next killer riff...)
So fatso, WHEN are you gonna bitch-slap yourself homey...??? WHEN are you gonna splinter your shins on the archives to find that perfect groove...? WHEN are you gonna relinquish your affinity for thinning suds in favor of a dunce hat...? WHEN, oh WHEN are you gonna nick some REAL ballbusters...?
Indeed, the ded still roam the earth, reeking havok in mankind, spurning every chance to bespoil the meek, the fat and the sleazy - And then may the REAL phun begin!!
Make mine hard, churning, fast, grueling and pummeling - And no, I dont mean them Heinz baked beaners?! 8P

Hey Fatso, when are you FINALLY gonna decide to hire some REAL musicians to make a break duude...?!
Been reading OLD (circa 2003) reviews on Sonus Umbra, and it feels like you're LOOOOONG overdue for a reprise bro! So, are you FINALLY gonna kick some bootey to snatch a REAL crooner, a REAL slinger, and a REAL rythmist, meebe even take over Mr. Portnoy's chalet (hint, hint!!) to record and master a REAL masterpiece worth writing a VERITABLE review forthwit...???
You know we're ALL overdue bub!!

This Hector Sinn is on to something. The Bane can travel to NY, then hop over to its great neighbor Vermont and show these Phish-lovin, Phil Lesh-obsessed, Moe.-maniacs what music is really all about. With Luis "Windy City Copernicus" Nasser back in the fold it should be a thunderous show. Please capture the magic on videotape and submit sed footage immediately to You-Tube.

Nothing's broken up man. The Bane will get back together and we'll do more albums and we'll play more shows, at least until the bear's arthritis gets the best of him. That, or Pete finally goes completely, utterly mad, and calls it a day.
Chicago, Baltimore... It's only distance on the surface of this crazy, fucked up place called earth. A longer commute for me. But we're all stuck on this orbit anyway. Gravity's a real obstinate bitch like that.
For the record, I didn't choose to leave Maryland. And in a way, you never really leave a place where you've lived for so long.
So we'll be back, to offend with our sonic racket and the girth of our loud flesh! You have my word on that!
I'm working on new Sonus material, and I know Pete's working on new stuff too. The madness will prevail.

If I remember my Sonus Umbra trivia and I do,Luis cant even eat pork(no,he's not jewish)I think even the salads over there come with some pork juice..so look out!! If you've heard Luis'bass tone?He gets more treble than Jan Akkerman, so I'm going to go with the Buddy Guy scenerio..although I think Dennis Deyoung lives there..He might just be trying to bother him into singing one of his operatic masterpieces
Mr. Everything
October 26, 2006
Luis, Why the move to Chicago? Is it the aroma of Iron Mike Ditka's Pork chops, the need to hear 90 year old Buddy Guy play blues with an abundance of trebley gain or your lifetime dream to play accordian in a Polka tribute band? Can you say wind-chill factor in spanish? good luck muchacho!
Otto Mattic

Actually, the bass player was killed by the Diaz brothers..those cock-a-roaches!!
Luis Nasser
October 19, 2006
Hey, that bass player was my cousin goddamit! And the fish taco wasn't bad. He just choked on a miasma of hot sauce, lemon, beans and lightly battered cod, wrapped in a gringo-style "tortilla".
Don't underestimate the power of fish taco's. Just ask the bear what happened after he indulged during a recent visit to San Diego.
Nuff said!
Pete
October 9, 2006
Come now Timbo - asking us to give money to Paul and Gene is as futile as asking Mr Steinbrenner to keep Joe Torre around for 7 mil. Oh and it was V30s and 75s in an x pattern. Would you kindly remove your bulbous head from your equally bulbous rectum.
As for you, Mr Evertything, we like to think it's more of an H.G.H. And I consider the bass player for the Los Lobos a much maligned genius.
Mr. Everything
October 7, 2006
I am not going to waste any more of the Banes' website to argue with Timbo Tin-Ear. Lets get some of the Banes' live set onto You-Tube, people, and Flog Timbo Tone-deaf with some Kurgan-prog!
Timbo Teebo
October 7, 2006
Could someone point out to "Mr Nothing" that his recipe would make a tasty soup..but have some class, sir!! The bassist for Los Lobos died 2 years ago after eating a spoiled fish taco...and the Banes' sound is more akin to a 75/30 watt speaker mix in a complex x-pattern...Good ears Ambrosia!Anybody know when the new Bane album is coming out? I've always wanted to hear a good remake of the "Creatures of the Night"
Mr. Everything
October 7, 2006
Is Timbo Teebo F@#$% deaf? Kiss is the last thing that comes to mind when I hear the Bane. Throw Pat Benatar, Frank Marino, Billy Cobham and the bass player for los lobos in a giant cauldron, then mix in a Barry Bonds amount of steroids, stir well then serve over a large bed of 1960 4x12 Marshall Super Cabs. Then, and only then, are you approaching the Bane's sound, Moron!!!
Timbo Teebo
October 6, 2006
Great album!!I liked it better the first time I heard it....when it was called KISS.Why dont you rename it "Camouflaged in Copyright infringement"..or better yet combine "The Future" and "Sea to Sea" and call it "Double Platinum" No, seriously... give Paul and Gene some money..I'm Ron Burgundy?

Anyway, I think we should start a section where WE review the reviewers. Just for shits and giggles. Give them scores and all, and summarize years of their work in a paragraph or three.

The 742 pounds of M&Ms with all the brown ones removed is easy, the three young chiquitas from Omaha for each band member, four for Lisa, done! The tornados are iffy but the opening slot for Meatloaf is totally out of the question! I guess I'll have to come up there where my demands will be met. Front row seating for me and all my friends, all two of them, all the beer I can drink, you will so go broke with that one. All my Kurgans Bane cds, hats and shirts, autographed. I get to see all tattoos that all the band members may have, even the cute ones that you don't want to admit to, and a couple of pepper steak sandwiches, extra peppers.
Lisa Kurgan
November 14, 2005
How did you come up with the name Kurgan's Bane? My father's name is Pete and mine is Lisa. This is pretty wild!

November 10, 2005
What would it take to go to the mid-west? Hmm, let me see...742 pounds of M&Ms with all of the brown ones removed, an opening slot for Meatloaf, and we'd need a guarantee there wouldn't be any tornados. Oh, and don't forget about the three young chiquitas from Omaha...per bandmember...but Lisa would get four!!!
