Pete

April 18, 2008

Hey Kai, I think I remember you. Didn't you know Cara through work? Thanks for remembering us and for stopping by.

BTW - I don't think you're the only one in Germany with the "Future..." I mean - c'mon - the critics had to get copies in order to write those bad reviews. lol

Kai

April 17, 2008

Hi, I'm happy to see that you guys are still out there creating great tunes. I saw a couple of your shows in "The Vault" in Baltimore in 2001 and 2002. Back then Cara Lilly and her boyfriend Greg Gianetti introduced us. Suddenly decided to look for you guys when "Feudal Tourniquet" started playing - I am pretty sure that I own the only copy of "The Future lies broken" here in Germany. Good to see that you are still out there. Greeting from Stuttgart, Germany Kai

That's great news. I can't wait to hear the CD.

Pete

April 14, 2008

Yes Matt we were able to get Derek to play a few solos for the CD. Obviously he's a great player, but he's a nice guy too. We should be done mixing by next week.

Matt

April 12, 2008

do you really have derek sherinian on teh cd?

Matt

April 11, 2008

...uh...was that a typo?

Pete

March 31, 2008

It's coming along very well Hector. Thanks for asking. Michael Passen (from Concrete Prophet) will be finishing up the last of the bass tomorrow night and we should be mixing by this Friday. Everyone did a great job on this project and I'm getting very excited for the finished product.

Hector Sinn

March 27, 2008

Great news about the CD Pete! How's it coming along?

February 11, 2008

Grief is a three-word pun: Good God man! Just when I thought the powers that be weren't lissening, thunder roars on the horizon?! (Then again, it might just have been a mustering bowel movement depicting the next killer riff...)

So fatso, WHEN are you gonna bitch-slap yourself homey...??? WHEN are you gonna splinter your shins on the archives to find that perfect groove...? WHEN are you gonna relinquish your affinity for thinning suds in favor of a dunce hat...? WHEN, oh WHEN are you gonna nick some REAL ballbusters...?

Indeed, the ded still roam the earth, reeking havok in mankind, spurning every chance to bespoil the meek, the fat and the sleazy - And then may the REAL phun begin!!

Make mine hard, churning, fast, grueling and pummeling - And no, I dont mean them Heinz baked beaners?! 8P

Luis Nasser

February 11, 2008

hey man, I'm just glad as hell to learn the dude lives.

And it's not like he's too far off the mark anyway LOL!

Pete

February 11, 2008

Hey Luis - Are you going to take that? LMAO.

DrDeath

February 5, 2008

Hey Fatso, when are you FINALLY gonna decide to hire some REAL musicians to make a break duude...?!

Been reading OLD (circa 2003) reviews on Sonus Umbra, and it feels like you're LOOOOONG overdue for a reprise bro! So, are you FINALLY gonna kick some bootey to snatch a REAL crooner, a REAL slinger, and a REAL rythmist, meebe even take over Mr. Portnoy's chalet (hint, hint!!) to record and master a REAL masterpiece worth writing a VERITABLE review forthwit...???

You know we're ALL overdue bub!!

This Hector Sinn is on to something. The Bane can travel to NY, then hop over to its great neighbor Vermont and show these Phish-lovin, Phil Lesh-obsessed, Moe.-maniacs what music is really all about. With Luis "Windy City Copernicus" Nasser back in the fold it should be a thunderous show. Please capture the magic on videotape and submit sed footage immediately to You-Tube.

Hector Sinn

May 9, 2007

Dudes that's awesome! Are you gonna come to NY state this time? I'm loving the new cd.

Welcome back to MD Dr Nasser... its time to rock some deep-dish ass!!!Why not a Bane/Sonus double bill?...The Bear needs the extra work.

Pete

May 5, 2007

Luis is returning to Maryland for six weeks this summer. So far, we have one show booked on Saturday, June 16th at our favorite venue, Orion Studio Showcase. See the SHOWS page for more details.

Luis Nasser

March 7, 2007

Man, it's been snowing non-stop since I returned. Most of it has been a "snizzle", but still, a couple of inches every day.

You feel 'em!

We'll see you soon. June is looking more and more definite.

Pete

March 5, 2007

Yes - the spam is gone. I have to clear it out once or twice a week. Pain in the ass!!!

It was good seeing you this weekend. Bundle up and stay warm in the windy city!

Nothing's broken up man. The Bane will get back together and we'll do more albums and we'll play more shows, at least until the bear's arthritis gets the best of him. That, or Pete finally goes completely, utterly mad, and calls it a day.

Chicago, Baltimore... It's only distance on the surface of this crazy, fucked up place called earth. A longer commute for me. But we're all stuck on this orbit anyway. Gravity's a real obstinate bitch like that.

For the record, I didn't choose to leave Maryland. And in a way, you never really leave a place where you've lived for so long.

So we'll be back, to offend with our sonic racket and the girth of our loud flesh! You have my word on that!

I'm working on new Sonus material, and I know Pete's working on new stuff too. The madness will prevail.

Timbo Teebo

November 2, 2006

Not only did Luis break up the greatest rhythm section there ever was.... but the greatest rhythm section there will ever be!

Otto Mattic

October 28, 2006

I should proof-read the entry before sending my comments..sorry Bane...not very professional

Otto Mattic

October 27, 2006

If I remember my Sonus Umbra trivia and I do,Luis cant even eat pork(no,he's not jewish)I think even the salads over there come with some pork juice..so look out!! If you've heard Luis'bass tone?He gets more treble than Jan Akkerman, so I'm going to go with the Buddy Guy scenerio..although I think Dennis Deyoung lives there..He might just be trying to bother him into singing one of his operatic masterpieces

Mr. Everything

October 26, 2006

Luis, Why the move to Chicago? Is it the aroma of Iron Mike Ditka's Pork chops, the need to hear 90 year old Buddy Guy play blues with an abundance of trebley gain or your lifetime dream to play accordian in a Polka tribute band? Can you say wind-chill factor in spanish? good luck muchacho!

Otto Mattic

October 24, 2006

Actually, the bass player was killed by the Diaz brothers..those cock-a-roaches!!

Luis Nasser

October 19, 2006

Hey, that bass player was my cousin goddamit! And the fish taco wasn't bad. He just choked on a miasma of hot sauce, lemon, beans and lightly battered cod, wrapped in a gringo-style "tortilla".

Don't underestimate the power of fish taco's. Just ask the bear what happened after he indulged during a recent visit to San Diego.

Nuff said!

Pete

October 9, 2006

Come now Timbo - asking us to give money to Paul and Gene is as futile as asking Mr Steinbrenner to keep Joe Torre around for 7 mil. Oh and it was V30s and 75s in an x pattern. Would you kindly remove your bulbous head from your equally bulbous rectum.

As for you, Mr Evertything, we like to think it's more of an H.G.H. And I consider the bass player for the Los Lobos a much maligned genius.

Mr. Everything

October 7, 2006

I am not going to waste any more of the Banes' website to argue with Timbo Tin-Ear. Lets get some of the Banes' live set onto You-Tube, people, and Flog Timbo Tone-deaf with some Kurgan-prog!

Timbo Teebo

October 7, 2006

Could someone point out to "Mr Nothing" that his recipe would make a tasty soup..but have some class, sir!! The bassist for Los Lobos died 2 years ago after eating a spoiled fish taco...and the Banes' sound is more akin to a 75/30 watt speaker mix in a complex x-pattern...Good ears Ambrosia!Anybody know when the new Bane album is coming out? I've always wanted to hear a good remake of the "Creatures of the Night"

Mr. Everything

October 7, 2006

Is Timbo Teebo F@#$% deaf? Kiss is the last thing that comes to mind when I hear the Bane. Throw Pat Benatar, Frank Marino, Billy Cobham and the bass player for los lobos in a giant cauldron, then mix in a Barry Bonds amount of steroids, stir well then serve over a large bed of 1960 4x12 Marshall Super Cabs. Then, and only then, are you approaching the Bane's sound, Moron!!!

Timbo Teebo

October 6, 2006

Great album!!I liked it better the first time I heard it....when it was called KISS.Why dont you rename it "Camouflaged in Copyright infringement"..or better yet combine "The Future" and "Sea to Sea" and call it "Double Platinum" No, seriously... give Paul and Gene some money..I'm Ron Burgundy?

Great show last night guys and thanks for letting us share the stage with you. Happy Birthday Jeff and thanks for the use of your drums.

Alan

May 13, 2006

Pete, I received your package. I haven't thought about some of those songs on the old set list in a long time. I had to think twice if we actually had done any of those. Must be the old age thing. Thanks, hope all is well. Luis, you are a funny man.

Mac

May 1, 2006

I haven't seen you guys in forever. Can't wait to see you guys play on the 12th.

Matt from Odin's Court

March 3, 2006

Jeff, it was cool to see ya at our show last weekend; thanks for coming!!

Also, I wanted to thank you for the CD. Dude, KILLER! Seriously, there aren't many bands around the area I enjoy listening to in my spare time, but your CD is very professional with some tasty playing and good song writing. GREAT JOB!

Rock on!

Reameer - We try to push the newer stuff. The disc with Al was recorded 8 or 9 years ago. Thanks for the compliments. (Yes, Al sings Queensryche very well.)

Raemeer

February 17, 2006

I heard your former singer "Alan" sing the other night, and he had mentioned he sang with Kurgans Bane. I listened to some of your songs here, and I must say you sound good. I don't see any songs with his voice? He did the queensryche and dio songs very well. Thanks good luck to you guys.

Lisa

February 12, 2006

We thought about playing the reunion, but none of us remembers how to play "Eye of the Tiger"
Maybe this explains why we're not getting more gigs...

Rob (From VT)

January 17, 2006

Hey Pete,

Love the new CD. Great Vocals and Music! Would rather have you guys play at the reunion than Chad!

Luis

January 9, 2006

Fucking spammers...
We should buy one of them bridal gowns, use it to dress the monkey who wrote the spamming program, and then give him procto-rectal trauma using one of those weathercocks from the second spammer site.

Nate(from Hysterical Society)

December 14, 2005

Hey guys...(and girl). Great new tunes, Superior sound quality, good material both musically and lyrically, from great people....What the F$ck else could any body ask for. Hope you dont mind..I boot legged a copy from Todd...but will be happy to purchase one next time I see you...so dont forget to bring one for me. Jeff, did you get Ghost Revelries yet?? I was wrong about the producer(not wilson), but I still think it's their best CD yet. We're hoping to be done our CD this winter and playing a Cd release at Club 66 in the spring. Hope to see you all there. Let me know about the show in Jan. I would love to see you guys live again....last time was at the Vault quite some time ago.

Luis Nasser

December 1, 2005

Disney? What's the D for Tommy, Donald Duck?
Anyway, I think we should start a section where WE review the reviewers. Just for shits and giggles. Give them scores and all, and summarize years of their work in a paragraph or three.

Johnny

November 24, 2005

Happy Thanksgiving you Kings of the Mid-Atlantic.

Tami

November 15, 2005

The 742 pounds of M&Ms with all the brown ones removed is easy, the three young chiquitas from Omaha for each band member, four for Lisa, done! The tornados are iffy but the opening slot for Meatloaf is totally out of the question! I guess I'll have to come up there where my demands will be met. Front row seating for me and all my friends, all two of them, all the beer I can drink, you will so go broke with that one. All my Kurgans Bane cds, hats and shirts, autographed. I get to see all tattoos that all the band members may have, even the cute ones that you don't want to admit to, and a couple of pepper steak sandwiches, extra peppers.

Lisa Kurgan

November 14, 2005

How did you come up with the name Kurgan's Bane? My father's name is Pete and mine is Lisa. This is pretty wild!

Pete

November 10, 2005

What would it take to go to the mid-west? Hmm, let me see...742 pounds of M&Ms with all of the brown ones removed, an opening slot for Meatloaf, and we'd need a guarantee there wouldn't be any tornados. Oh, and don't forget about the three young chiquitas from Omaha...per bandmember...but Lisa would get four!!!

Tami

November 8, 2005

What would it take for you to come down here?

Hector Sinn

November 5, 2005

I broke down and bought Camouflaged In Static and I just received it yesterday. The whole disc is great. Martyr and Surface are my two faves. I can't wait to see you live!

Pete

November 4, 2005

That's right. Coming soon to a rodeo near you!!!

Tami

November 3, 2005

We'd love to go upstate NY and play a show. Do you have any suggestions of places where we can try to set up a gig? Rochester, Buffalo, anywhere. I just want to play.

Hector Sinn

October 16, 2005

Hey Gordo - Ease Up Mo!!! The new disc is now available through CD Baby, paypal, or by personal check. All info is now on the Merch page....Woo Hoo!

Luis Nasser

October 16, 2005

Yeah... can't wait for the viagra spam. Or the online poker freaks. Come to think of it, what I really can't wait for is a paypal button to actually appear on this webpage, so we can maybe SELL stuff to folks who may want it. Until then, you can knock on Pete's door and he'll hook you up.

Tim

September 29, 2005

Hey, at least they didn't compliment Jeff's vocals on "Fascinoma." "Great work" is general enough that it could apply to you. I'm waiting for the web spiders that say "hey, you guys need Viagra? Cause I have a feeling..."

Luis Nasser

September 29, 2005

Charly and Terry cute little names for web spiders.

May 24, 2005

Hey Al, things are good here. Hope you're doing well in Texas. The new album is finished, and hopefully something will be done with it in the foreseeable future. In the meantime, I got a hankering for some "SuiSide Rose". Sounds fucking hilarious. Take it easy man!
